Duraplating Inc. has been a family owned and operated business for over 30 years. Established in 1970 by Keith Knodel to provide this unique process to local and regional companies such as Kodak, Ingersol Rand, Ford Motor Company, General Motors and others.

We provide quality workmanship and products to extend the life and wear of industrial parts and tooling. The traditions of this family business continue today under the management of Keith’s son Cort.

WHAT IS DURA PLATE:
Dura Plate is a thin, hard, dense chrome coating with a nodular type surface finish. Dura Plating provides excellent wear, anti-galling, corrosion protection and reduces friction for most types of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, with the exception of titanium and magnesium. Dura Plate is applied at temperatures less than 150°F. Processing at these low temperatures prevents dimensional changes, distortion, and annealing (softening of base material) from occurring. Deposits of Dura Plate range from .000050 inches to .0002 inches with a Rockwell “C” hardness value in the range of 70 to 72. Dura Plate is a highly controlled proprietary process.

DURA PLATES MICRO-NODULER SURFACE:
Dura Plating's nodular surface finish reduces surface contact and aids in the re-tension of lubricants. This feature, when coupled with the inherent lubricity characteristics of chrome, results in a lower coefficient of heat, static and sliding friction.
